From a young age, I was always fascinated by the real estate sector in general. I was very aware of how stable and profitable real estate investing can be and was intrigued by the back stories behind those who invest in real estate. Usually, these individuals had to have accrued their wealth from successful ventures of their own. Fuelled by my curiosity to learn from these people, I wanted to enter into a field where I could be of added value to them so that I could expand my horizons accordingly.
Whilst I was at university, I had several summer internships at various real estate and debt advisory firms in London. I quickly realised that this sector suited me very well and that it could indeed be my value add to these real estate investors. I was committed to focus all of my attention to becoming an expert in that field. After working at a couple of debt advisory firms, I eventually went on to found my own advisory business, Navigate Finance. Our niche was initially focused on Middle Eastern investors looking to park their money in UK real estate that required Sharia Compliant financing. Over time, we organically built a client base from multiple demographics that were looking to source all lending formats; buy to let mortgages, commercial mortgages, development financing and bridging finance.
As Navigate Finance was solely focused on the UK marketplace, I wanted to be part of a larger organisation that also included a European and International scope so that I could work with a broader range of clientele. Furthermore, I became motivated to be part of and build a business with like-minded, entrepreneurial individuals where we can combine our respective qualities to enable ourselves to offer the ultimate holistic service for our clientele. Hectocorn is exactly that and I am thrilled to be part of an incredibly unique and talented team.
Clear communication, not taking oneself too seriously and a great sense of humour.
That a very tough question, there’s many things I’d like to change! Generally, I’d like to live in a more equal society that can coexist in harmony. I believe the core mechanics behind societal disharmony can be attributable to inequality, which I believe segregates society in a non-meritocratic way.
Sir Alex Ferguson – I have been a massive Manchester United fan my entire life! Sir Alex Ferguson is the embodiment of what it takes to be a successful leader not just in football, but in life. There are endless parallels in what it takes to run the most successful football club in the history of the game (fact) and running not only a business, but also managing all sorts of interactions that we come across in our lives. Sir Alex is a mastermind of man management, strategy and success. I’d love to pick his brain on a few things!
Muhammad Ali – Muhammad Ali is passion. Most people recognise Muhammad Ali as an incredible boxer and, as much as I do too, I became more intrigued by the man outside of the ring. Ali was born into a very segregated society and had to be bold and confident to become the “Greatest of all time”. He was very passionate and committed to his beliefs and never strayed from his cause and purpose. He presented himself with utmost sincerity and was a man of tremendous faith. Even in his later years, when extremely restricted by his progressing Parkinson’s disease, he faced it with grace and dignity – never complaining and only acknowledging it as a test. There’d be endless wisdom to learn from that man!
Marcus Aurelius – Marcus Aurelius was that last of the great Roman emperors who was very well known for his stoic and virtuous qualities. As emperor of Rome, he was the leader of what was essentially the entire known world at the time. He could do and demand anything he wanted. Emperors before and after him were renowned for their callous and brutal exhibitions and general disregard for others whom they ruled over. Aurelius was different – he resisted all temptation to stray from virtue and was well known for his humility. He eventually wrote a book to himself that is referred to today as “Meditations”. This book was eventually discovered and published – I hugely recommend reading it! In this book, Aurelius lists a plethora of stoic principles that he constantly reminds himself of and lives by. I think we can all benefit from some stoicism from time to time as, ultimately, we must be at peace with things that we cannot control in life. As someone who is on the pursuit of this, I’d definitely have a question or two for him at dinner!
You can either find me at a discreet restaurant with amazing food or at a relaxed lounge that has a pool table!
- To continue to help build and grow with Hectocorn.
- To improve on my language skills.
- To learn how to play tennis and generally have a well-established workout routine.

I would have probably pursued a career as a football agent. I love football and there are multiple parallels between what we do in debt advisory and the qualities that are expected of the best football agents!
I know this is cliché, but I’d definitely like to travel more and explore new places. I’d also like to obtain a pilot licence so that I could fly recreationally if I ever had the chance!
As you could have guessed based on the above, I’d love to be able to fly! As well as saving so much time travelling from A to B, the views would be amazing too!
